Asteroids, the new breed.

In the dark, dank reaches of space a new evil rises to power. Large, shapeless and geometric these concentrated balls of evil drift slowly and harmless through empty space. Piloting the latest in diamondonium triangles you must battle the ancient evil and send it's rocky arse back to space hell.

Utilizing the amazing "transmatter transporter" you'll be able to chase those pesky rocks around the world and INSTANTLY appear on the other side (no more falling off the world for you!). Equipped with your Extra Murderous Asteroid Destruction blaster, EMAD for short, you can easily dispatch the greatest of space rocks. Becareful though, this space debris is not push over and will make and attempt to clone itself with every deadly shot you take. Make sure vaporize every last harmless chuck until it's space dust, otherwise it might end up floating aimlessly forever, or burn up in some planet's atmosphere!

With astonishing 2-bit graphics, like none you've ever seen, you'll be second guessing reality. And if the graphics aren't enough to win you over, then surely the multi-awarding winning soundtrack from the creators of Pong will. In 7.1 surround the soundless void of space will hardly be able to contain your squeels of glee.

Available 1979, by Atari.

  1. I <3 Asteroids. What an addictive game, really. I could seriously play this game for hours trying to top the champion's score.

  2. Did anyone ever play Sinistar? That game was kinda like Asteroids, but the sounds clips of the evil boss were actually pretty scary! Good game.
